Sports Premium
The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. Sprowston Junior School will receive £17790 for the 2025/26 school year
Our plan for spending this grant includes:
- Training and professional development of teachers, including subject leader training
- Using outside agencies to provide more extra-curricular clubs, e.g. gymnastics, dance, tennis
- Subsidising after-school and holiday clubs
- Entering more competitions, e.g. Norfolk School Games; Adapted Games; Cluster events
- Providing better resources and equipment to keep children active at lunchtimes
- Introducing new sports and activities to children
- Emphasising the importance of leading healthy lifestyles and healthy minds
- Providing outdoor activities on the school site that promote healthy living
Across the school year we provide clubs and opportunities for:
- Athletics, including indoor athletics
- cricket
- Cross-country running
- Dancing
- Football
- Gymnastics
- Tennis
- Tag-rugby
- Multi-sports
In 2024/25, we will compete against other schools in athletics, cricket, cross-country, football and tennis. Please read the PE Report for more details.
