Equality Information

The school conforms to the Equality Act of 2010 and ensures that all decisions in school are made with the equality act in mind. The following objectives have been set for all areas of the equality act for the period of 2012-2016:                                                                                                                                                                                                                       •  Monitor whole school data each summer to identify underachievement (if any) by any ethnic group
• Develop the recognition and value of diversity through assemblies and PSHCE curriculum
• Promote diversity by actively seeking visitors from
  different ethnic backgrounds to enrich the curriculum
• Any gender underperformance to be flagged up and extra provision put in place to meet the needs of those children
• All policies are reviewed every 2 years with amendments made when necessary due to new guidelines or changing circumstances
• All staff are expected to treat all children equally, with opportunities in school equally available to boys and girls
• To educate the children and develop their knowledge and understanding of ‘difference’ (Social Emotional Aspects of Learning SEAL programme)
• To identify specific areas of support for individual pupils, both inside the classroom and during break times and lunchtimes
• To work closely with other professionals to ensure all individual needs are met, including setting up CAFs if necessary
• To make all possible adjustments and allowances to ensure those with a disability have full access to the curriculum both inside the school and out on field trips.
• To work closely with parents to ensure all needs, whether physical or mental, are catered for
