Curriculum Overview

Our school curriculum not only follows the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also offers an integrated and broad curriculum of activities in order to enrich the experience of all children, including a diverse programme of visits and visitors. In line with the New Curriculum for 2014, pupils and staff were asked to write down important values and life skills that they would like to see as part of our curriculum. These can be seen by looking at the curriculum trees (What do we value in our curriculum?)

We aim to help our children become positive, successful learners, who can work and cooperate with others, while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to enable them to achieve their full potential. The following subjects are timetabled: English, maths, science, ICT, RE, PE, PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education), modern languages, design and technology, music, history, geography, art and philosophy. We teach discrete lessons but also combine some subjects in a thematic approach.
