Friday 12th January, 2024

It really does seem odd writing 2024 on a newsletter. Twenty fours years since the millennium is difficult to believe! Every school year seems to go so quickly; we need to make sure we embrace the opportunities in front of us and make the most of all the time in school during the months ahead.

A separate letter will be emailed home today regarding uniform, jewellery and packed lunches. Please do take a minute to read the letter and we appreciate the support.

More dates will be added to the diary in the next week or so. We will be welcoming parents & carers into school for coffee mornings, as well as letting you know about other school events coming up.

We look forward to clubs starting from Monday again. We also look forward to the lighter nights, so we can start to have clubs outside again.

Enjoy the weekend.

Kind regards

Matt Walton, Headteacher

Year 3 Camp Fire

First we started talking about how to stay safe when a fire is being lit. Nicola lit the fire.  Then we passed around kindling, birchwood bark and twigs to add to the fire. We also got some mini-pans and put lots of corn kernels in the pan and they popped and turned into pop corn. We got to eat in a mini-cup and it was yummy. Nicola put the fire out and then she gave us some charcoal. We used it to write on some card. We all said a big thank you to Nicola!

Ben Langley - To the moon and back

We are looking forward to welcoming Ben Langley (of Norwich pantomime and Britain's Got Talent fame) into school for an assembly and workshops next week. The theme is space. All the children will get to hear from Ben, and we look forward to his exciting assembly and workshops!

Uniform Shop

We still have a few bits of uniform available for anyone to come and take. Please come into reception and ask to see it. There is no cost.

We are also on the look out for more stock; if you have any uniform which is no longer used, please think of us!

Playground

We are looking to have more activities at playtime for the children, including being able to use lego or building blocks. If you have any spare lego/meccano or similar items, we would very much appreciate any donations.

Parent Readers

Year 3 and Year 5 are looking for parent readers. If you have any free time, particularly in the mornings, and would like to support the children with their reading, we would love to hear from you. Please either speak to the class teachers or leave a message with the school office.

Cross Country at Langley Prep

Yesterday, our intrepid runners braved the cold to take part in the NPSAA cross-country at Langley Prep. It is a beautiful setting and one of the favourite courses for many of the runners. Everyone did really well both competing and encouraging their teammates.

The team for this race eas: Eliza, Carissa, Talia, Ani, Ethan, Jasper, Xheison, Ethan, Dexter and Lewis
