HEADTEACHER'S MESSAGE

A massive well done to all the children for another week of home learning! A big well done for all the parents too in these difficult times.

Just like earlier in the year, it is important that a balance is found in individual households that works. Please do not worry if that means not all work is getting completed.  There is not a one size fits all in this scenario. We hope that our set-up gives children the opportunity to check in daily with their teachers and to do the lessons set on Google Classrooms at their own pace. We can see the effort being put in by the children and sympathise with the issues of technology in households, especially where many siblings may need access at the same time. We do still have a limited number of computers we can lend out so if technology is causing major problems, please do get in contact with me.

I've enjoyed looking at a lot of the work coming through to the teachers and I can see some of the fantastic effort that children have been putting in. We've made it through to Friday and I hope everyone will be able to find some downtime over the weekend.

Kind regards

Matt Walton, Headteacher

Into Opera - Song Cycle

Just before Christmas, the Into Opera Song Cycle was premiered. It was lovely to see many familiar faces in the video and quite emotional to hear the lyrics and to see all the children coming together with the messages living through Covid, a period which will become a significant historical period of this generation.

Well done to all the children involved; it was lovely to see the enthusiasm and effort they put into learning the songs and to singing individually.

If you weren't able to see the video before Christmas, please take a look here:

Christmas

It was lovely at the end of term to be able to have a number of events in school to help celebrate Christmas. All year groups were able to have a Christmas lunch and all the children enjoyed Christmas Jumper day. We were also able to have some Christmas arts and craft activities across the school which I believe the children really enjoyed. We look forward to next Christmas when we will hopefully have all children back in school enjoying the festive time together.

Home Learning

Year 6 have been learning about Street Art and they had a go at creating their very own graffiti signatures. Pretty impressive! Have a look below:

Year 5 have been designing their own Viking shields and making brooches. Some super work here!
