HEADTEACHER'S MESSAGE

I hope everyone has been able to log-in to the new parents' portal and download the new app. We will be adding to the features that we use through the school website and are pleased that the website, app and portal are all phone and tablet frien
dly. The monthly newsletter will now also be created using a facility in the app and they will always be available to view.

We're looking forward to seeing the children again next week and to wrapping up the term. We feel it has been a successful one on many fronts and the teachers have been impressed with the work on Google Classroom this week.

We are pleased to have been able to rearrange Christmas lunch and Christmas Jumper Day and hope the children enjoy the last few days in school before the Christmas break. Please see the diary dates below.

We wish you all a lovely Christmas holiday when it arrives. It has been a testing time for everyone and we appreciate that this Christmas will be different to normal for many families, for various reasons. Our very best wishes to all our families and we wish everyone a healthy and happy 2021.

Matt Walton, Headteacher

Ancient Egypt Day - Year 4

Our Year 4 children had a fantastic day as Ancient Egyptians. We started by looking at everyone's amazing costumes. Some of the head dresses were truly amazing.  This was one of the favourite parts of the day for the children. We had a morning of story telling and working hard at our activities. The children got into their roles as Ancient Egyptians and prayed to the god Aten. The children enjoyed the (soap) sandstone carving, making ink, making perfumed wax, making amulets and canopic jars, mummifying pegs and painting hieroglyphics. In the afternoon we had a celebration with the Pharaoh and his Royal party putting on a show; the children enjoyed dancing and acting. Year 4 were amazing and a credit to our school.

A lot of our children have blogged about it on our Year 4 Blogs. Have a look!

Support over winter - Norfolk Assistance Support Scheme

If you're struggling this winter because of coronavirus, NAS can help you with food, paying your bills and money for everyday essentials.

The support we offer is for two weeks to begin with. However, if you need more long-term help after that, we can work with you to access further support and find out what other help you might be eligible for.

This winter support is also available to help if you are self-isolating, either because you have coronavirus symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive. Remember – you can contact us as many times over the winter as you need to.

Other support

The scheme can also help you if you can’t meet your everyday needs and are struggling for reasons other than coronavirus.

It can also help you with household items like white goods or beds if you're having to move house if, for example, you're fleeing domestic violence or moving out of care and into the community.

Please look out for an email sent today regarding Bikeability sessions for your child in Year 5 or 6. We are pleased to have been offered this fully funded course. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis. Your child will need a bike in good working order and a helmet in order to take part.

If your child is interested, please fill in the online questionnaire. We will ask for a consent form to be filled in when places have been allocated.
