Dear Parents & Carers

We've reached the end of another enjoyable school year.

Thank you to everyone for their support over the past 10 months and I hope the next few weeks gives everyone the time to recharge after a busy summer term.

Today, we say a final goodbye and farewell to the Year 6 children and we wish them all the very best for the next stage of their education and beyond.

We also say goodbye and all the best to Miss Watts, Miss Howse, Mrs Ellis & Mrs Marples.

The next school year promises to provide plenty of great curriculum experiences. As part of our arts project, we will be having a musician in residence one day a week to teach some of the children ukulele and samba drums. An after-school choir will also be held. We look forward to all the new opportunities next year will bring.

We will also be launching our own wrap-around care very soon. Please see the poster below. We are pleased to say that we have recruited staff and will be able to tell you more when we return. It will not begin at the start of term, but we hope to be up and running soon after.

Well done to all the children for their efforts this year. We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday 3rd September.

Kind regards

Matt Walton, Headteacher

Sports Days

The Sports Days were very enjoyable events and we didn't let the rain dampen the spirit at the Year 3/4 morning!

Over both mornings, the effort, team spirit and enjoyment shone through, and we enjoyed two excellent events. We were impressed with the children and we hope all parents & carers enjoyed the mornings too.

The scores were so close showing how every effort counts! These were the final results:

Fire: 1251 points

Air: 1250 points

Water: 1146 points

Earth: 1064 points

Overall, Fire were the winners of Sports Day. Well done Fire!

Wizard of Oz - Year 6 Performance

The Year 6 children put on a number of memorable performances over two days last week. Everyone who watched was impressed by the singing, acting and confident speaking. The children thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and were a fantastic team, learning their lines brilliantly and really immersing themselves in the production.

We had some fantastic support with the costumes and the set. Thank you once again to Mrs Lacey and Mrs Furness for all your help!

A massive well done to the cast and to Miss Watts, Mr Reeds & Mrs Collier for the super performances.

Colour Run

Yesterday, the whole school enjoyed a 'colour run' organised by the friends of school. It was a really lovely event, and great to see the whole school coming together at the end of term enjoying an activity.

The children completed an obstacle course around the playground whilst a variety of adults ensured it was a colourful experience for them! The children gave the activity a big thumbs up and finished off with an ice pop!

Our thanks to the friends of school for all their wonderful efforts this year. These last few weeks in particular have been very busy with the BBQ, disco and colour run. All were fantastic events and a lot of money has been raised to spend on the children.
