
Curriculum Overview
Autumn
Literacy:
In literacy we will be studying lots of different books. We begin with a series of picture books to help us learn the routines, expectations and our school's values, then we move onto The Tin Forest. This term we will also be reading Charlotte's Web and Pandora's box.
Maths:
Place value: identifying and representing numbers up to 1000
Addition and subtraction: using column method up to 4-digit numbers
Area: calculating the space inside rectilinear shapes (all corners are right angles)
Multiplication and division: studying multiplication tables up to 12 x 12 and counting in multiples of 25 and 1000
Geography:
Europe: Identifying and learning about different countries and capital cities within Europe.
History:
Boudicca and the Iceni: Discovering who Boudicca was and her importance within the Iceni.


Science:
Animals including humans: Identifying and labelling bones and muscles in the human body and learning about animal and human diets.
Sound: Learning how sound is made, changes and travels.
This term we will be hosting some exciting curriculum days. Details to follow. We also hope to invite parents/carers in to have a look at our learning.
Art:
Printing: Mono printing, block printing and creating repeating patterns
DT:
Food technology: Answering the question 'Is cheap food worse for us?' by learning about nutritional information.
